Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Rest in Peace/Paradise Gloria. You will forever remain in our hearts the Favel Family. Gloria worked as a Caregiver to my mother Mary Starr who was Mary Favel at the time. Gloria was a godsend to our family. We came to love her and respect her. She called my parents Mom and Dad. I often ran into her during the years. I found out she just lived not to far from me and would often see her on the bus and she would brighten up my day with her spunk, strength, love and laughter. There are so many memories of Gloria. I wish I had know that it was her that day I would have been there for her, but Gloria will always remain in the hearts of the Favel family; Derrick, Theresa, Sharon, Diana, Deborah, Faron, David, Donna, Ann, Sandra and of course our mother Mary Starr. I went last night to say goodbye to you and pray for you and your family. May God bless each of your family members. Terri Favel - Posted by: Theresa Favel (Friend) on: Jul 15, 2015

  • I'm just getting word of this passing today. So sorry for your loss. Gloria also known As Mama was a wonderful lady. She was smart, had spunk and I had the utmost respect for her. Although it had been sometime since I had seen her she was always in the back of my mind. Teaching me how to dance in the laundry room was my favourite time, as well as listening to her stories about Clifton and her "damn car" as she would pit it. Rest in peace my friend, you will be forever in my/our hearts. - Posted by: Shantelle (Co-worker) on: Jul 13, 2015

  • Rest in peace my old friend, we shared a lot of laughs. You deserved a much better fate. - Posted by: Bill Craig (Former co-worker) on: Jul 13, 2015

  • My deepest sympathy to Davey family. I worked with Gloria in the 1980's at Holiday Inn (formerly known as Birchwood Inn). We both worked together every weekend and she always makes me smile every time I go to work. It was fun working with her. I just saw you on the bus a couple months ago and catching up and I regret not contacting you again. I will miss you Gloria. I will pray for you and your family. I'm so sorry again for your loss. - Posted by: Theresa Mann (Co-worker) on: Apr 18, 2015

  • I would like to extend my condolences to Gloria's family. I met Gloria at Riverview Health Centre where we both worked. She was a very kind woman full of joy and happiness with a smile and joke for everyone. Your loss will lessen as time passes. She was a lovely person. So very sorry for your loss. • Our deepest sympathy to the Davey family. My family was fortunate to have lived a few houses from the Daveys. My brother and I went to school with Delroy and Clive, and also have many good memories being neighbors on Bachman Bay. Your Mom was a wonderful person, so friendly and caring. She would often come over and have tea with our Mom, Charlene. Perhaps they are both sharing tea together now. We were saddened to hear of your loss. Please know that we are thinking of all of you at this difficult time. - Posted by: Laurel Yeo, Kevin and Peter Polson (Neighbors) on: Apr 16, 2015
