Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA CURE (nee DUNWOODY) March 8, 1960 - April 12, 2015 The next time you see a dragonfly, soaring over the water or taking a rest on your shoulder, think of our Pat and smile. Pat was the sixth of seven Dunwoody children to grow up in Pointe du Bois. She moved to Lac du Bonnet in her late teens to be with her true love and soul mate, Donny Curé. Pat and Donny's unconditional love for one another was admired by all who knew them. They had two children, Amanda and Jonathan, who went on to give her five beautiful grandchildren, who she cherished. Pat loved being at home, and that is where we could always find her, often with oldies tunes playing in the background. She was quick to offer up her hospitality to anyone who walked through the door and no one ever left hungry. Pat's passion was cooking. She served spectacular meals to anyone who was around at meal time. Her legacy in the kitchen will live on through her sous chef, Tessa, who she taught to cook for Pa once she was gone. Pat continued her amazing hospitality through to her job at Woody's, where she worked for the Rollins family for 18 years and continued as Manager at Petro Canada for the past seven years. Pat had a knack for knowing exactly what all her regulars needed when they came in and would often have everything rung up before they got to the counter. She devoted over ten years to Ducks Unlimited, organizing their yearly fundraising dinner. She was also one of the key organizers in the grand opening of the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre. In the summer, Pat and Donny could often be found at their own piece of paradise, their cabin at Booster Lake. Pat felt peace when she came up to the boat launch and looked out across the secluded lake. She continued her love for entertaining there too, always inviting friends and family to join them. She leaves behind to carry on her spirit, her loving and devoted husband Donny, daughter Amanda Curé and Grant Gooding, son Jon and Tara Curé. Her precious grandchildren Dallas (Brittany), Ashton, Tessa, Cason and Kylin and her great-grandson Gage, mother-in-law Albina Curé. Siblings Judy and Glen Romanow, George and Arlene Dunwoody, Sheila Veilleux, Ruth and Bob Braybrook, Cathy and Laurence Olive-Dorie and Peggy and Patrick DiClemente-Rogocki. In-laws Donna Lee and Glen Brincheski, Della and Randy Betker, Dan Curé, Doug Curé, Doris and Peter Lussier, her special Aunt Margaret Lodge and her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Isabelle Dunwoody, father-in-law John Curé, brothers-in-law Bill Olive and Keith Veilleux and many other family and friends. Pat's non-judgemental ear, encouraging advice and generous spirit made everyone who met her know they had a friend for life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and friend, Pat was quick to give to others with no expectation of anything in return. Pat has asked that there be no service and that her remains be returned to the earth. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in honour of Pat you do an unexpected act of kindness for someone who needs it. My heart is broken. Pat (and Donny) welcomed me into the family 7 years ago. She was the 'hostess with the most'. She cared about everyone. No matter what she was doing, she always made me feel welcome and a part of the family. I will treasure our visits and conversations. She was always very frank. I was only able to visit 3 times in the last 4 months due to completely unforeseen circumstances. I am so happy to have been able to visit with her exactly one week before her passing. She and Donny will always have a special place in my heart. I want to express my sincere condolences to the entire family and it is a big family. Pat, rest in peace and thank you for everything. I will treasure our friendship. Thank you for your insight and unending love and hospitality. Audrey Carr (friend and former family member). Xxxooo always. - Posted by: Audrey Carr (friend and former family member) on: Apr 30, 2015

Pat was a fixture in the Pointe du Bois history from the time I arrived in 1973 until her final passing. She always had a glowing smile and a heart of gold for all the people that she met and was always there to help others even as she concentrated on raising her own family. It was a pleasure to have known her and to have shared some time with her, especially at Woody's where she was the glue of the operation. May the road rise up to meet you........ - Posted by: Norm & Pat Norris (Friends) on: Apr 26, 2015

Pat was the first person I met when we moved to Edward Crescent, she came over introduced herself, welcomed us to the community, and gave us a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses..that was the type of lady she was..she would do anything for anybody...I remember her bringing 2people from England, who had been staying with a relative, and they had problems, they were trying to get back into Winnipeg, to try and change their flight, but instead she brought them to her house where they stayed until there flight home a couple of weeks later..I am shedding a tear as I write this, but Pat I know you are soaring..we will meet again.... - Posted by: Charles and Jacqueline Stueck (Neigh our and friend) on: Apr 18, 2015
