JAMES WALTER LAND (BOB) The family would like to announce the passing of James Walter Land (Bob) on April 25, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital with his family by his side. We very sadly say goodbye to a real "jokester" and a sweetheart of a man. He was predeceased by his mother Alice Land (nee Hampton), father James Land, son Ryan and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons David (Karen) and Terry, stepson Joel (Tammy), brother Eddie (Sherril) of Moose Jaw, SK, sister Gwen of Calgary, AB, and daughter-in-law Diane Land of Brandon, MB as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dad was born June 30, 1932 in Carman, MB. He joined The Royal Winnipeg Rifles and later served in Korea for two years as a Rifleman under The Queens Own Rifles. When he returned, he worked tirelessly in the furniture moving industry for such companies as Security Storage and United Van Lines where he retired, but, could have easily had a career as a professional singer as he had a beautiful singing voice. Dad was a hard worker all of his life, had a great sense of humour and loved being with his family..and his family loved being with him! Dad always jumped at the opportunity to spend time with family which included trips to Brandon, eating at restaurants and jaunts to the local coffee shop. The family would like to thank those involved with Dad's care at Maples Personal Care Home where he also made an impression by his sweet disposition. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. As per Dad's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service at the cemetery in Carman, MB on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
