JOAN EDNA MAXWELL With heavy hearts, the family of Joan Maxwell announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the age of 83. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 57 years, Ken; her five children: Sharon (Tim), Dave (Sandra), Ron, Shelley (Craig), and Bryon (Erin); her eight grandchildren: Ryan, Kristen, Scott (Ashley), Kevin, Kelsey, Carly, Sydney, and Emma, and her siblings: Georgina, Bev and Clint. Born on January 5, 1932 in Fort William, ON, she was one of 12 children. Joan met the love of her life, Ken, and married on August 17, 1957. They made Winnipeg their home. She was a wonderful homemaker and very talented at knitting. Her greatest joy was her family. She especially enjoyed the family gatherings filled with smiles and laughter. Funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home located on Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Osteoporosis Canada in her memory.
