Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEREMIAH HAKIM CHAN MADUT Jeremiah Hakim Chan died on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 6:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Hospital, after a long battle with cancer. South Sudanese-Canadian by nationality, Jeremiah held a diploma in Commercial, and worked as a banker in Sudan. Jeremiah was one of the few individuals that reinvested his education for the benefit of his people, as he always put humanity before everything he did, whether for his family, relatives, friends and community at large. Jeremiah was a very practical person who believed in helping and supporting people individually and communally, and he had manifested that through humanitarian work with Save the Children UK in old Sudan and other organizations. He continued with the same spirits of which he was one of the executives in the South Sudanese Association in Manitoba until their leadership terms expired. He is survived by his wife, four sons, two sisters, nieces, nephews and extended and immediate relatives in Winnipeg, North America and around the world, as well as South Sudan. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Matthews Anglican Church, 641 St. Matthews Avenue. Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with service at 10:35 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Paul's (Middlechurch) Anglican Cemetery.
