ELLY OLIVE SIEMENS (nee ENNS) February 12, 1925 - May 6, 2015 With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Olive, beloved wife of Leonard Siemens; very dear mother to Charlotte (Gerald), Becky (Donny), Janice (Donald) and Judy (Philip); and much adored Omi to Geoffrey (Jessica), William, Elizabeth, Carly, Andrea, Benjamin, Christina and James. Olive was granted her hearts desire and is now Home with her Lord and Saviour, welcomed by her parents, Gerhard and Agathe Enns; and sisters, Eva, Hedy and Ruth. Olive grew up in a loving family on the farm in Oakville, Manitoba. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Boniface General Hospital. Others referred to her as a "crackerjack" nurse! After her marriage to Len, she entered a new role, that being the best mother any child could dream of having. Olive was a woman with a deep faith in God as exemplified by her life. Together with Len, they have spent their married years actively involved at Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church. Knitting and quilting gave her great pleasure. Her works of art number in the hundreds and expressed her love as she shared them with others. Olive loved a great laugh and saw the fun in everyday events. Most of all, Olive loved her family and would always be up for a cup of coffee with one of her girls (or sisters). She will be deeply missed. The Siemens family would like to thank the loving caregivers on Unit 1 at Donwood Manor. A very special thank you to Dr. Carl Duerksen for his care and compassion. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12 at Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church, 1771 Pembina Hwy. There will be viewing at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee (Nepal Relief), 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9, for those suffering and without homes.
