EMILY YAKIMCHUK (nee WUZINSKI) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Emily Yakimchuk at the age of 87 on May 9, 2015 at Riverview Health Center. Emily was born on April 24, 1928 in East Selkirk, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Michael, five siblings and her parents Nellie and Steve Wuzinski. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Sharon (Perry) Procyshyn and Shirley (Andrew) Radawetz and grandchildren Samantha, Adam, Mykaila and Lucas. Emily was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother who always put the needs of others before herself. She loved her grandchildren dearly. She was a very generous and loving person with a good sense of humour and an infectious laugh. There were many things that our mother enjoyed including gardening, and watching curling, figure skating, baseball and CFL football. She was the Winnipeg Blue Bombers biggest fan. She also had an appreciation for good food and was an amazing cook and baker. After raising her daughters, Emily worked as a sewing machine operator at Sterling Stall for many years before retiring. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the WRHA, the home care and Palliative Care team as well as the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. God has taken away her pain and replaced it with our sorrow. We love and miss you mom and always will. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. Vichnaya Pam'yat 204-586-8044

I just found out today about the passing of my Great Aunt :( I met her once a few years ago at her house we visited for a couple of hours and it was amazing! She also got the chance to meet my son. We lost touch (such as life) but that one visit with her she had left her mark-impacted my life that I will forever cherish and remember. - Posted by: Violet Yakimchuk (Great Niece ) on: Jul 28, 2015
