Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. My Mom, Margery and Joan were great friends and shared many of their stories with me whether it be going to a new tea house, to a play at the Theatre Centre, or just shopping to Garden City. Joan was a very caring person and will be missed by all she knew. - Posted by: Cathy Trann (McDonald) (family friend / neighbour) on: Jul 25, 2015

  • I am so sorry for your loss of this precious, kind and gentle woman,I would be doing yardwork and she would be walking by with her cat on a leash and we would talk about things, she will be greatly missed by anyone that knew and loved her. - Posted by: Carol Hapko (one of her neighbors) on: Jun 10, 2015

  • My condolences to Joan's whole family especially John who is the only one I remember. Joan's Dad and Mother were great friends of my Grandparents and Joan was my baby sitter in the 40's and a friend ever after. Gradually our letter became sporadic but I enjoyed every one of them. Her last letter a couple of months ago said that she was tired. Rest in Peace Joan - Posted by: Reid Pearce (Friend) on: May 26, 2015

  • Our condolences to everyone in Joan's family. Joan was an integral part of our family, without fanfare Joan assisted her Aunt Lillian Moir(my mother) in her later years with shopping trips, medical appointments and friendship. My husband and I feel very blessed to have had a short visit with Joan and lunch the week before her passing when we were in Winnipeg. Rest in Peace Joan, our love to you. Since the notice was just the day before the service we were unable to get back to Winnipeg for it. - Posted by: Phyllis (nee Moir) and Dan Black (Cousin) on: May 16, 2015

  • Mrs. Bender was a lovely, kind lady. She was my Grandparents neighbor for as long as I can recall and will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Kathy McGrevy (Hooper) (Friend) on: May 15, 2015

  • Condolences to Joan's family on her passing. We worked together at Hudson's Bay House, where I was the fur records clerk and she was the secretary to the Fur Adviser to the General Manager. She was such an efficient, pleasant, fun person and one could not have asked for a better co-worker. After I left, I lost contact and often thought of her. - Posted by: Shirley (Stefanson) MacFarlane (Former co-worker) on: May 14, 2015
