GERHARD PERNER On May 11, 2015 Gerhard Perner gave up the fight that kept him hanging on to life these last few difficult years. He was predeceased by all but one of his siblings; Rudy, who still resides in Germany and his daughter Christel who passed away on February 17, 2015 in Winnipeg. He leaves to mourn his son Gerhard (Ann) and his daughter Liz (Gordon), four grandchildren Darren (Lorraine), Brent, Michelle and Michael (Jennifer) and two great-grandchildren Jackson and Payton. Gerhard was born in Friedenshof, Germany on November 6, 1933 into a family of six children. His childhood was not easy but he was tough, and after surviving the war years, he grew up into a hardworking young man. He met and married his wife Wanda, and with two kids in tow and one on the way, they decided to move to Canada. They landed in Quebec on October 31, 1955 with Winnipeg being their final destination. He always worked hard to put food on the table as a window and door installer and also made windows for many years. He and Wanda enjoyed their cabin in the Lac du Bonnet area during his working as well as his retirement years. Enjoy your pain-free peace Dad/Opi.
