TONY PETRILLO, JR. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Tony Petrillo Jr., on May 17, 2015. Left to mourn are parents Tony and Angela Petrillo, sister Emily Rempel (Brent), nephews Joe (Nicole) Rempel, Christopher Rempel and Brandon Rempel, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Tony remained a quiet and private man all of his life. He endured some physical injuries and medical conditions that often made his life difficult. Tony was always strong and his deep love for his family was always constant. We are so appreciative that over the last year we were able to truly express this to one another. The funeral mass will take place on Monday, May 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue with condolences at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Tony's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to: www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

  • My condolences to the family on the loss. I worked with Tony for several years. He was quiet and dependable. I remember fondly the times that he would get talking. It was always an interesting time. - Posted by: Pat C (Former Coworker) on: May 29, 2015

  • With heartfelt condolences to Tony's beautiful family. I have so many wonderful memories with my 'favorite childhood friend' Emily and her sweet brother Tony while growing up in St. Vital. I can remember Mr.& Mrs. Petrillo, such hard-working; warm and loving parents who worked such long grueling hours at their store. I marveled at how they raised such responsible, reliable and capable children at such young ages. I remember being in awe of Emily and Tony's relationship. I was so impressed with his maturity and how well he listened to Emily's instructions for homework or chores. I, myself had older twin sisters and two older brothers but I always wished that one day I could have a little brother just like Tony. I'd go home and beg my Mom...but after having 5 kids in a 5 year span well you might guess what her response would be! lol I often think of the fun times we had together but my heart bleeds for my 'favorite childhood friend' Emily for the loss of her only baby brother. I pray that God will provide strength and comfort in the days ahead. - Posted by: Gina Maureen Bye (School Friend) on: May 26, 2015

  • Our prayers are with the family. A lovely family who lived across the street from us in St. Vital over thirty years ago. We remember Tony as such a handsome lad. - Posted by: Florence and Julian Zayac (Former neighbours in Winnipeg) on: May 24, 2015

  • I want to offer my condolences to the family. Emily was also a classmate of mine. My prayers are with all the family, especially with Emily whom I had a special friendship with over the years, both at school and when she worked at MB Hydro. - Posted by: Noel Meilleur (School mate) on: May 24, 2015
