Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGINETTE PIERRETTE LACHIVER (nee BOULANGER) It is with great sadness we say farewell to our adored maman, mémère and great-mémère on June 3, 2015 four days short of her 85th birthday at Pine Falls Hospital. Ginette was predeceased by her husband Marcel, daughter Arlette, parents Roger and Renée Boulanger (France), Alain (infant son), and granddaughter Virginia. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children, Annick (Brian), Monique (Bill), Michel (Jamie), Suzanne (Patrick), Roger, Pierre (Jocelyn) Joel (Francine), Yvon (Tammy), Sandra, and son-in-law Hubert (Jeannine); her grandchildren Suzanne (Chris), Ian (Shannon), Alain (Adrienne), Tanya (Eugene), Yann, Jannie (Derek), Kathryn, Blaise (Marie), Richard, Patrick, Solaine, Kedric, and Natasha, and great-grandson Andrew. Ginette was born in Paris, France on June 7, 1930 and was an only child. She came to Canada as a newlywed in 1950 and settled in St. Georges, MB. Ginette was a proud, hard-working person and with the help of some special friends she learned to adapt to her new country. Maman worked various jobs while raising her 10 children and ended her career of 20 years at the Pine Falls Hospital. Her home was a revolving door welcoming anyone who entered and everyone was treated like family. Maman was an amazing chef and would always make a gourmet meal in no time for all to enjoy. Maman was our mentor, our teacher and our guide and we will forever be grateful for the gifts she provided us. She will also be remembered for her unconditional love, her generosity, sense of humour and joie de vivre. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to all those who helped take care of Ginette over the last year battling cancer, and a very special thank you to the compassionate staff at Pine Falls Hospital. Adieu Mamie! Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13 at the Notre Dame du Laus Church in Powerview, MB at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, everyone is welcome to attend a celebration of Ginette's life at the Pine Falls Legion from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. I remember you back from the early 70,s as a child who made the best French fries in town. Little did I know that many years later we would laugh and visit, and you would be showing me how to make les Pommes Frites et la Soup D'oignions dans ta cuisine, comme ils font a Paris. Merci Ginette, Kenavo. - Posted by: Jocelyne Bourbonnais (Friend) on: Feb 13, 2016

Suzanne, we are so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear mother. It is so hard to lose a mother, but she will be with you for the rest of your life. Mine has been gone for 23 years already and I think about her every day. It never goes away, although the pain does lessen. To you and Patrick and your children, we want to extend our sincerest sympathies. Our prayers and our thoughts are with you in these very difficult times. Let's get together soon. - Posted by: Lise & Gilbert (Friends of Patrick & Suzanne) on: Jun 07, 2015

Ginette was a very good family friend and I remember all the great times we had as my family- brothers, sisters, mom and dad would meet at the Lachiver's home after church chat and laugh. I loved Ginette as she was very loving, caring person and a great cook! My deepest sympathies to the whole family. - Posted by: Simone Dupont (family friend) on: Jun 06, 2015
