AMALIA SUSTARSIC It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Amalia Sustarsic, at the age of 81 years, at Seven Oaks Hospital on Sunday, June 21, 2015, with her family by her side. Her memory will be deeply cherished, and she will be greatly missed by her husband Frank; her daughter Beneta (Marko); granddaughters Vanessa and Sabrina; her brother Joze, and her many nieces and nephews in Slovenia. Amalia was predeceased by her parents Maria and Jozef, her brother Stanko, and her sister Maria. Amalia was born in the town of Semic, Slovenia on March 21, 1934. She immigrated to Winnipeg, MB, with her husband in December of 1957; together they worked to have a better future. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's League for many years. Amalia was a very patient, kind and gentle person who put the love of her family before anything else, and her thoughtfulness never went unrecognized by her family and friends. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to sew, hold dinner parties, and loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Amalia's memory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Ave. with Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Viewing will be one half hour prior. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church hall following interment. To love a Mom and then to part, is the greatest trial to the human heart. Years of striving, little of play, loving, giving, the whole of the way. A cherished smile, a heart of gold, to the dearest Mother the world could hold. Happy memories, fond and true, from us who thought the world of you. Beautiful memories are treasures ever, of happy days when we were together. With aching hearts we whisper low, God Bless you Mother, we'll miss you so. Father in Heaven hear our prayer, guard my Mother with tender care. Be a good Shepherd, don't leave her alone, Love her as we loved her when she was here at home. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044
