ANNIE THIESSEN 1928 - 2015 On June 22, 2015, Annie Thiessen, aged 86, peacefully passed away. She was predeceased by her husband, Abe, in 2006. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26 in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

My condolences to Pauline, Chuck and family. Earliest memories of Mrs. Thiessen were of her reading poems at various church functions. When there was an opportunity to do a volunteer presentation, she was often the one to read longer reflective poems. Their frequent trips to Rio Grande Bible School in Texas were an encouragement. To have 'older' people do volunteer ministry and be excited about it helped me have a broader view of what it meant to be involved in missions. My earliest recollection of Annie was her marriage to my brother Abe. I had recited a poem about a teacup which I then presented to them. They moved to a little house on our farm for a while right after their wedding and it was there I had tea with Annie in the teacup I had given to them.
