HERCULANO FERNANDES June 12, 1927 - June 25, 2015 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herculano Fernandes, affectionately known to as "Avo" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Armando Fernandes (Estela), Americo Fernandes (Lydia); grandchildren, Sandra (Fernando), Steven (Amanda), Adam and Daniel, great-grandchildren, Isis and Valencia. He was predeceased by his wife, Constança, mother, Isabel, father, Manuel and sister Angelina. Herculano was born, June 12, 1927, in Castro Laboreiro, Portugal. He came to Canada in 1962 and was joined by his two children and wife in 1968. Except for the last two years, during the last 30 years, Herculano and Constança divided their time between Canada and Portugal. He enjoyed great food, playing cards and hunting with his family and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with a reception and interment at Assumption Cemetery to follow.
