Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA JOSE LESCHYSHYN (nee SOUSA) Maria Jose Leschyshyn died peacefully at home on Friday, July 3, 2015, at the age of 70 years old. Maria is survived by her husband Michael, whom she was married to for 42 years; children, Derek (Kim) and Jason (Kristy); grandchildren, Andrew, Isabella and Juliana; siblings, Maria Fatima (Gilbert) and Esmeralda; nephews and nieces, Vasco, Carlos, Rui, Peter, Elizabeth, Robert and Renatta. Maria is predeceased in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Gloria Sousa; and sister Maria Lurdes. Maria was born on April 25, 1945 in Vila Franca Do Campo, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal. She immigrated to Canada in 1963. Maria was an active and dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed singing, cooking, baking and babysitting her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching hockey and her favourite team was the Montreal Canadiens. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street N., Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Assumption Cemetery.
