Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES KOWALCHUK (nee SMERCHANSKI) Peacefully, on Monday, July 6, 2015, Frances passed away, with her daughter Jessica at her side, at the Holy Family Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mike, and son Ron. She is survived by Jessica's husband Keith Pynoo, her daughter Sandra Shaw; daughter-in-law Moira; grandchildren: Korin and Todd (Amanda) Pynoo; Kelly and Rob Shaw, Corey (Lara) and Adam (Kelly) Kowalchuk; great-grandchildren, Madeline Miles and Emma Pynoo, Ava and Henry Kowalchuk; niece Margie Zuckerman, as well as other relatives and friends. Frances was born and raised in the Interlake area and later moved to Winnipeg. She worked as a nurse's aide in the maternity ward of the St. Boniface Hospital where she spent many happy years. After retiring, she enjoyed gardening and most of all her grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at Holy Family Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation in Frances' memory may be made to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9. 204-586-8044
