DONNA HENDRICKSON March 17, 1946 - July 7, 2015 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved nanny and mother, with her family by her side at Concordia Hospital on July 7, 2015 at the age of 69. Donna will be missed by her son Rene (Jackie); grandson Robbie and granddaughter Julie; daughter Janene (Corrie); and granddaughters Brook and Bailey. She was born in Morris, Manitoba on March 17, 1946 and spent most of her life living in Keewatin, Ontario and the last 10 years in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her happiest times were when the whole family was together playing dice, cards and trivial pursuit. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of Donna's life will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or The Winnipeg Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Janene and Rene and families....we are so saddened to hear of your dear mom's passing. We were in Wpg on Wednesday and went to Salisbury House on Ste. Anne's.....and every time we go there we think of your folks....and I said out loud to Rob....wish I could look up Donna. We had no idea....do hope you are all sharing in memories of your happy times in Keewatin. We so enjoyed visiting with your folks and playing cards or Trivial Pursuit. The coffee was always on!!!! Rob and Bob (and Mike Z.) went goose hunting....you will remember that Rene...and we will never forget that Donna was so allergic to bee/wasp stings and still went out berry picking and fishing...she was such a strong gal and she gave you kids that stern look like you'd better not cross her....but she thought so much of you two and trusted you too. May she now be reunited with your dad in Heaven and she will be setting him straight again! We are so blessed to have walked on this earth with your dear folks..may they rest in peace....their work on earth is done. Please take comfort in the happy memories and stories....that we all have shared. Sincerest condolences to you all. - Posted by: Linda and Rob Freeman (friends) on: Jul 13, 2015

  • Janene,Rene and families We are at a loss for words. Your mother never got over the loss of your father. We know she missed him immensely. They can now be together watching over their family from heaven. We miss our times spent making perogies and cabbage rolls. My god but George made some big ones probably so they were done quicker and he could get to the "taste testing". Oh yes and all four of us would share a bottle or two of wine as well. There isn't a time that George & I make perogies now that we don't talk about the times that the four of us made them together. It is a small tradition such as perogy time that gives us all fond memories of people who are and were special in our lives. May you all treasure times such as these to give you all sunshine in the days ahead. Our loving thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Love Ingrid & George - Posted by: Ingrid & George Parkes (Friends) on: Jul 10, 2015
