OLGA SKURA (nee HARASYMEC) On Thursday July 9, 2015, surrounded by love and family, Olga passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Olga was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her memory will always be cherished by her children Richard, Cheryl (Bozidar), Debbie (Allan), and Peter (Trisha); and grandchildren Jesse, Maegan, Chelsea, Tyler, Christopher, Matthew, Dora, Alyssa, and Emma. She is also survived by a large extended family. Olga was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1995. Our Mom was born in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. She was the youngest and last surviving child of Stephan and Mary Harasymec. Olga retired from Eaton's after working there for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church and an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League until her health deteriorated. The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their care and compassion, where she lived for the past three years. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with Fr. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. My thoughts, prayers and sympathy are with Ollie's family whom she was so proud of. Your mom and I were close friends for over 40 years. We first met at St. Joseph's as members of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. Fate stepped in and we then worked together on the 3rd floor of Eaton's until retirement. We tried to have lunch together whenever possible to share stories of our lives as our families grew. We had many great times outside of work also. These past few years have been hard as our health failed both of us. May your mother Rest in Peace and may God's Blessings be with all of you always.
