JOAN TERESA PRITCHARD
Born: Feb 28, 1932
Date of Passing: Jul 19, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN TERESA PRITCHARD (nee MALENFANT) February 28, 1932 - July 19, 2015 To our family and her friends Joan expressed her love in acts of service. Her gourmet dinners featuring tasty new recipes were a joy for all. Her caring for her grandchildren was expressed in games of pretend and songs and treats and generous gifts. Her caring for Jack, her husband of 60 years, became more and more extensive as his health failed over the years. Her love for her daughter Carol was typified in special orders of seafood crepes at festive dinners. Joan has kept in touch with her colleagues since she retired from the City of Winnipeg in 1994. Their retirement meant that Joan and Jack enjoyed long summer days at the cottage reading and relaxing but also entertaining a long stream of guests: family and friends. They attended many performances of Gilbert and Sullivan and the Opera. Most of all Joan (and Jack) loved to travel and so saw much of the world stretching from San Francisco to Australia, New York to Europe and Northern Africa. Joan was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer just seven weeks before her passing and she faced her failing health with courage and dignity. Jack had died just seven months before, and Joan leaves to remember her many friends, her daughter Carol, grandsons Brendan and Aaron, and Bill and CJ. Her (clever) sisters, Carol Knott and Miriam Wright (Brian) and their families also mourn Joan's passing. A service and reception in Joan's honour will be held at St. Saviour Anglican Church, 690 Munroe Ave. at Grey Street, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 23. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

Dear Carol, Bill and sons - Our deepest condolences on your mother and grandmother's passing. I know that you all were the center of her life. She was the kindest person to me when I met Hans and we began to have dinners with her and your dad. It was always a treat to run into her at Safeway and catch up. She will be missed so much. - Posted by: Hans Arnold and Brenda Bacon (Friends) on: Jul 23, 2015
