FRANCES MARY TOMLINSON (nee CHECKOWICH) January 5, 1924 - July 21, 2015 Peacefully in the early hours of the morning, with family by her side, Frances Mary passed away on July 21, 2015. Frances was predeceased by her husband Walter "Tommy" Tomlinson, her parents Nellie and Peter Checkowich and sister Victoria Frederick (John). Frances will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Frances was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1929. In her early years Frances worked at Trader's Finance as an accountant and manager. Later, together with her dear husband and friend, they owned and operated a gas station/garage and built a successful real estate business buying, fixing, and selling homes. Their nieces and nephews meant the world to them, and spent many wonderful times together at the lake, going out, and having family dinners. The family wishes to express their appreciation to all first floor staff at Park Manor Nursing Home. Thank you to all who touched Frances' life and made her feel special. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street North, just outside the perimeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assiniboine Park Zoo, 15 Conservatory Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3P 2N5. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
