POLLY (PEARL) FEDOROVICH (nee LEGENUIK) After a short illness, on Thursday, July 23, 2015, Polly passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, with her son Sid and his wife Vivian by her side. Pearl is survived by her daughter Linda Bruce of Ottawa and granddaughter Shelley Bruce (Ryan Bragg) of Vancouver; sons Sid (Vivian) and Ken (Pat), step-granddaughter Jennifer Weedon and grandson Jeffrey Fedorovich and their families, all of Winnipeg; sisters Anastasia Cebriy and Helen (Nick) Kostur, and brothers Peter (Stella), Harry (Madeline), and Steve in British Columbia; and many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Ann Ledeniuk and Doris Buzikievich; brothers-in-law Ludwig Buzikievich, Emil Schnitzer, and Peter Cebriy; partner Bill Bullman, and former husband Paul Fedorovich. Pearl was born on December 26, 1928, the second of John and Mary's eight children, in St. Julien, Saskatchewan, and grew up on the family farm near Wakaw. She came to Winnipeg with her sister Ann in 1947, by bus and train, financed by their savings and their father's "turkey money", to find work. She enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch, crochet, embroidery; and did consignment sewing for many women in the Elmwood area and beyond. She also used her sewing skills when she volunteered with the Elmwood High School Band Parents Association, fitting the students' second-hand uniforms. As her children grew older, she worked outside the home at Jacob Crawley/TanJay, the Cavalier Hotel, the Marlborough Hotel, the Radisson Hotel and the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Up until recently, she volunteered at St. Ivan Suchavsky making perogies. In her 50's, she went to the Adult Education Centre to upgrade her education that had been cut short as a teenager. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30 also at the Chapel with Rev. Dr. M. Kwiatkowski officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider an act of kindness, or donate to CancerCare Manitoba in memory of Polly. your mom was one of the finest people I ever met. Her care and compassion for my uncle was remarkable. I know it was not always easy for her. I have been sick for the last three years and regret not being able to speak with her to see how she was doing. My deepest condolences. I remember meeting you at your aunts home. - Posted by: Brenda Scarcella (William Bullman niece) on: Jul 30, 2015
