JAMES HOWARD JOSEPH SCOTT July 22, 1963 - July 28, 2015 Sadly, we announce the passing of Jim, peacefully, with dignity, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, aged 52. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Susana Scott (nee Cabral), children Christopher Scott (Ana), Kelsie Scott, Mathew Simpson, Brendan Simpson, and Victoria Scott; mother Deloris Dunning; sisters Shirley Dueck, Linda Hiebert, Illa St. Goddard; brothers Therin Harper and Jason Harper; in-laws Antonio and Adelia Cabral as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. Jim was predeceased by his brother Leslie Scott and stepfather Gordon Dunning. Jim lived a full life with the time he had. All who knew him described him in the same way; a good man, who was genuine, with a kind and generous heart. Jim met and fell in love with his "Sus", married her in 2002, years later, still in love he renewed his vows and married her again. Constant companions, Jim was happiest by her side. A committed and dedicated family man, he loved his kids, spending time with his family and was immensely proud of all their accomplishments. Always charismatic he had a way of brightening up a room with just his smile. He loved to dance, which he was good at and to sing (which he was not good at). He was a master of practical jokes, quick to make us laugh with his antics, made friends easily and always made a point to speak with everyone in the room. He prided himself with great BBQ skills (master of BBQ ribs) and cooking - recently mastering the art of the perfect cheesecake. He loved the outdoors, camping and skidooing and greatly enjoyed getting out of the city to his mother's country home. Jim played high school football with the Hornets at Tec Voc and was a huge Bomber fan. He worked for almost 25 years with MacDon Industries as a welder-becoming Chargehand of their welding department and of course, made many good friends along the way. A devout man, Jim was a member of the St. Gianna Council (Knights of Columbus) (3rd Degree) where he was involved with charity work and fundraising activities. A good son, a good brother, a devoted husband, loving father, and a good friend - sadly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Pallbearers will be Christopher Scott, Mathew Simpson, Brendan Simpson, Russ Grier, Darrell Elder and Dave Montgomery A Prayer Service will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 also at the church with Interment at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. 204-586-8044

  • He is my uncle Jim there are so many things I can say about him. Like the way he laughed, it was a unique laugh you always knew where he was by the sound and echo of his laughter. When he laughed he had a smile that could brighten up the saddest of days. That top lip would curl up and you knew he was up to no good that was my uncle Jim the prankster, the funny guy, the guy that was ALWAYs there to listen, to talk to, to share a laugh, a hug even a pat on the head and him saying whats wrong with my Robbie Shnick can't be that bad. LIke I said there are so many things I could say about my uncle Jim he was my uncle Jim. He is a big part of my life and I will you and Love and I will never forget you. Till I see you again Uncle Jim Love Robbie - Posted by: Rob Michel (nephew) on: Aug 01, 2015

  • My heartfelt sympathy to all Jim's family and friends... Jim took great pride coming to work, even when the best of him wasn't there. One of the best work-ethics I have ever seen that many should aspire to. The office won't be the same. I will miss our early morning chats, learning about his family and life, how his medical progress was going, making the game plan for the day, the teasing and ribbing we had back and forth... lots. Rest my friend, Peace. - Posted by: Simon (Friend...Coworker) on: Jul 31, 2015
