TODD OLSON (JASON TODD OLSON) Todd Olson died on July 30, 2015 at the age of 47 after a long and difficult illness. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Todd will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Marnie; his precious son, Kaden; and his fur baby, Cooper. Todd's passing is also mourned by his mother, Louise Solmundson; his father Ray Olson (Venus); and his brother, Sean (Steffi). He will be missed by parents-in-law, Don and Heather Talocka; sister-in-law Jodi (Brad); brother-in-law Dan (Lorna); and nephews, Ryan, Max, and Quinton; good friend, Pete; and others who kept faith with him throughout this journey. Todd had a great passion for Hardcore music. He was self-taught on the bass and electric guitar. As a young man Todd worked very hard to create his band, Corpus Vile. The band played a number of gigs in the city and even did a little bit of touring. His proudest musical achievement was receiving a record contract. Todd loved photography, technology, and graphic design, all of which showcased his immense creative talents. Todd was a real free spirit. He loved skateboarding, snowboarding, hockey and camping. His greatest love and joy was his son, Kaden. That was a mutually adoring relationship. Family trips to the states, camping, play wrestling, and bike riding were just some of the things they loved to do together. Todd's greatest pleasure and pride was watching Kaden play hockey. A special thanks to Dr. D. Hochman, Dr. M. Krahn, the staff of CancerCare, Ward 5E, and the Palliative Care team, all of St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to CancerCare Manitoba. A reception and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at Centro Caboto Centre, 1055 Wilkes Avenue.

Dearest Marnie, I am so sorry for your loss. I regret that I have been so busy with my own life and my own troubles that I have not taken time to check in on friends. If you ever want to talk, I'll listen. - Posted by: Merle Zbrog (friend) on: Aug 08, 2015

Todd's quiet intensity took over a room at will. Our mutual love of music brought us together in Blockbuster although I never made it to stage with them. His knowledge of bands was vast and I am lucky for having known him. We hadn't seen each other in a lot of years and had planned a meet up at a friends social a couple months back but he wasn't up for it. I wish that went differently but will see you tonight at your celebration brother. - Posted by: Ricky Philip (Ex Bandmate) on: Aug 05, 2015

Playing with Todd in Corpus Vile in 85 and 86 was a privilege. He was a quiet leader, who was passionate about the band. He was so serious, so it was all the more fun when the guys and I would crack that shell and get him to laugh from the gut. I'm grateful to Facebook for allowing us to reconnect after so man years. We shared some great memories and talked about getting together this summer. I'm sad that didn't happen. My condolences to Marnie, Kaden, and to all that loved him. Bye, friend. Thanks for all you did in such a great part of my life. - Posted by: Bruno Venesia (Friend/Bandmate) on: Aug 05, 2015

Louise, Ray, Sean, Marnie & family We are very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Todd. It is very hard to bear the pain when loved family members pass away. It takes time, but you will remember the wonderful memories of him without the pain. Though we cannot be with you at this difficult time, we hope you find some comfort in knowing we are thinking of everyone & we all send our love.
