Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE POZERNIUK It is with deep sadness and sorrow we tell of the passing away of our dear wife and mother Anne Pozerniuk (nee Haliday). She died peacefully on August 10, 2015 at the Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Kassie Hlady, also our uncle Mike and Aunt Stella and friends Helen Senkiw and Dorthy Markus. She leaves behind her husband Peter of 65 years and her two children Patrick and Teresa who will always cherish her memory in their hearts. As dad was the head of the house she was its heart and soul! Mom was born on November 21, 1927 in Winnipeg. She was baptized, had her first communion and was married in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. She cherished her faith and was proud of her heritage and tradition always taking great care at Christmas Eve and Easter as she had been taught by her mother. After finishing high school and business college, she worked as a secretary for the lawyer Mr. Maclane until she married and started her family. She took great pride in keep her house tidy and neat and there was always good food to eat. In later years she enjoyed working in her garden and traveling all over the USA and Canada too. Places we visited were Florida, California, New York City, Washington, Toronto, Niagara Falls and Ottawa -- the Ukrainian National Shrine. Special thanks to all the staff at the Maples Care Home and Seven Oaks Hospital especially the spiritual care providers who helped us in our hours of need. A private service has been held. I was invited to her last birthday party last December. I will always remember the good time downstairs in the cafeteria with pizza. I never got to know her to well near the end but I remember the times I came over to watch slides of my trips and they were always so kind to leave for the evening while me my brother Lawrence, Pat and terry were able to watch the slides...She was a very very nice person - Posted by: Jeffrey Nobiss (a friend to the son and daughter Pat and Terry) on: Dec 15, 2015
