Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERIC KELBERT Peacefully, with family by his side, Eric Kelbert passed away on August 12, 2015 at Oakview Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 75. Eric will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Vera (Danyluk) Kelbert of 50 years (August 12, 1965); two daughters, Shauna (Neill) Cook of Calgary, Twyla (Kevin) Eberharter of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Reece and Emily Cook; sister Myrtle (Ed) Hart; brothers, Ervin (Dorothy) Kelbert and John Kelbert and numerous nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by his parents, Berthold and Lydia (Fishbook) Kelbert; sister and brother-in-law Violet and Tom Leggett; and sister-in-law Sherry Kelbert. Eric was born on August 14, 1939 in Swan River, Manitoba. He received his education at Cropppertops School and Minitonas Collegiate. He began his career with the Metropolitan Investigation and Security, and continued on with the Ontario Provincial Police, Gilbert Plains Police and on July 20, 1965 secured a job with the Assiniboia Police Department in Winnipeg. Eric concluded his career with the Winnipeg Police Force, retiring after 30 years and two days service at the rank of Detective Sergeant. Eric started his relationship with wife Vera, lavishing her with yellow roses, which led to a bouquet of dark pink then continued on for five decades with many red roses in between. He enjoyed life in the outdoors: horses, farming, camping, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling; as well as travelling with his wife Vera. They visited the Caribbean many times, saw the east to west coast of Canada and travelled to many parts of the United States and Europe. He was an avid fan of the Bombers and the Jets, and loved music - especially quartets. Eric lived his life gently and quietly with wisdom and understanding, demonstrating a man following Jesus and God's Word; whether it was with loving care for his wife Vera, teaching his children or enjoying family and friends.
