JOHN HENRY PAULS Suddenly, with his wife of 54 years by his side, John Henry Pauls was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 20, 2015. John was born in Winnipeg, MB on January 2, 1936 to Jacob and Anna Pauls, and they took him home to the farm in Osborne that he remained on till 1999. In 1961 he married Martha Schmidt and they worked the farm for 40 years. Three children Kelly, Cheryl, and Richard filled out their family. They retired to Headingley where John enjoyed gardening and singing in his quartet - the Town & Country Quartet. And then came the grandchildren! Madisyn, Amadeus, Bailey, Mackenzie, Isabella and Sebastian will miss their Poppa dearly. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, with interment at LaSalle Cemetery. If the viewing service on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m., with a devotional at 7:15 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., Winnipeg, is more suitable, then choose that option to help us celebrate his life. Donations in John's memory may be made to Gideon's International or Living Bible Explorers, available at the service. Friends Funeral Service, 204-339-5555

  • Martha, Kelly, Cheryl, and Richard, Was saddened to hear of John's passing. I remember him for his warm smile, gracious spirit, and of course, the beautiful singing with you, Martha. I have many fond memories of visiting your home and attending Pauls' get togethers while being a room mate of Val's. Your house was always filled with fun and laughter. May you experience God's peace as you deal with your loss. - Posted by: Jan Minty (Wanamaker) (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2015
