Born: Feb 19, 1948
Date of Passing: Aug 15, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY ANN REUTHER (nee FORD) February 19, 1948 - August 15, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of "Shirl" at the Selkirk District and General Hospital, with family by her side. She was 67 years old. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Howard and Jean Ford; father-in-law Percy; cherished brother Gary and brother-in-law Bobby. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband and the love of her life John; mother-in-law Lottie; three daughters Jeannie, Julie (Faron) and Jackie (Manfred); grandchildren Cole, Mitchell (Amanda), Jayce, Leah, Clay and Beau and great-granddaughter Neo. She will be missed by her brother Bob (Penny) and sister-in-law Duryce, both of Aberdeen, Washington; brothers-in-law Butch (Mavis), Charlie (Brenda) and Patty (Bonnie) and sister-in-law Patsy (Brent) Horvath, along with special nieces and nephews, and very good friends Connie Hermanson, Gordie and Flo Foster, Annette Gendron and Scott Martin. Mom was born in Aberdeen, Washington and at the age of 12, her family moved to Winnipeg. At 13, she met dad and married a week after her 18th birthday. They were married for 50 years. Mom enjoyed the cottage on Deception Lake, ON. She loved birds! She started with budgies and grew to silkies, turkeys, bob whites and peacocks. She loved her horse, Mr. Frank, the backup horse. Over the years mom was employed with the U of M, Jostens, and Charison's Turkey Hatchery. Mom's love of animals was evident as she made a horrible foster parent for the Humane Society. She ended up keeping them all. Shirley's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and heath care aids of RM3 at the Selkirk Hospital for their care and wonderful support. Jeannie and Julie would also like to thank their cousin Cody for his presence during the late night vigils! Following Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's name may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

I love my Bama with every bit of my heart and always will forever she was my bestfriend, she inspired me to achieve alot of life goals such as graduating and I thank her so much for everything she has ever done for me and I feel good for what I've done for her in the past like helping around the farm or the simple things like holding her hand to walk. We would look at the stars and just talk for hours when I was younger even sing me to sleep. She was an amazing person and the best grandmother a guy could of ever asked for. I love you Bama forever and ever. Rest in peace - Posted by: Cole Reuther (1st Grandchild) on: Sep 01, 2015

Our hearts go out to our family. She was a very special lady, that was loved dearly. Shirl and Gary would love talking on the phone for a couple of hours, it was great to have them laughing and catching up. They had a very special relationship! I miss those calls. I will miss our talks too! Hold on to each other tight and love one another, be there for each other.
