HENRI P. TRUDEL September 9, 1924 - August 28, 2015 Nearing his 91st birthday, we are sad to announce the passing of our dad and dear husband, Henri Trudel. Henri will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Hortense; his children, Donald (Jeanie), Jacques (Diane), Colette (Gerald Houle) and Daniel (Denise). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; his sister Germaine (Theodore Dupuis) and sister-in-law Helene Trudel. He will be missed by the Forest family, and the many nephews and nieces who were all very dear to him. Dad was passionate about his career in the grain industry to the very end. He was always involved in the community wherever he lived. He was especially proud of his involvement with the Knights of Columbus, culminating with his appointment as District Deputy for the Manitoba State Council District No. 7. Most of all, Dad was dedicated to caring for the love of his life, our mom, Hortense. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held Friday, September 4, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0K6 (204-949-2000).

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I was so sorry to hear of Henri's passing . Henri was one of the funniest guys I knew, always making & telling jokes. I would be laughing so loud & hard that when I left their place staff would ask me what's the joke? I'm so glad that Henri and Hortense were a part of my life. • Sincères condoléances à toute la famille. Je me souviens d'un homme joyeux et doux qui aimait taquiner et faire rire! Il était dévoué à son épouse et ses enfants mais aussi à sa communauté. - Posted by: Raymonde Dupuis () on: Sep 02, 2015

  • Henri had the rare gift of putting a smile on everyone's face with his own gentle smile. He was the essence itself of a gentleman. Kind, respectful, throughtful, attentive, gentle, peaceful ... I will miss him greatly. My sincere condolences and prayers for his dear wife and family. - Posted by: Fr. Phil Daley (friend) on: Sep 02, 2015

  • The world has a new Angel amongst us. Our family has lost a great man. It was but a year ago this week that I was having "un p'tit drink" with my favorite mononcle Henri. He was kind, funny, full of energy, had a zest for life, always positive, loved playing his fiddle at family parties and best of all, he cherished my matante Hortense. We love him dearly. Sending a lot of love'n light from across the miles from Montreal. Bon courage to my beautiful aunt and all who knew mononcle Henri *Hugs* Miriel xoxo - Posted by: Miriel Robidoux (Niece ) on: Sep 01, 2015

  • Our deepest condolences to the Trudel family. For many years, Henri and Hortense were our neighbours in St Jean. You could not ask for better neighbours. We can testify to the loving care that he gave his wife. He was a kind gentleman. A man of morals, compassion, and kindness. . Once we were gone and the water came up in the basement. We rushed home, but Henri had already raised the appliances in the basement. He took care of his own home but also of the neighbourhood. You don't find that kind of person much anymore. He loved his children and cares deeply about their education. - Posted by: Ron and Anita Perron (Neighbours) on: Sep 01, 2015

  • We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your Father Henri. We have know him for a very long time as he was a volunteer at Foyer Valade when my husband's mother was there and he was always a willing assistant at St. Timothy's for many years. He will be greatly missed at Dakota House as well where he helped out at masses every week. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of the family. - Posted by: Harry and Joanne Roussin (friends) on: Sep 01, 2015
