Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINEZ JAKOBINA VILBORG KWASNYCIA (nee INGIMUNDSON) Sadly, we bid farewell to our Mom on August 28, 2015, after her battle with cancer ended. Mom was born on July 29, 1931 in Lundar, MB, and spent all of her adult life in Winnipeg. Most of her career in administration was at United Grain Growers, until her retirement in 1988. Mom will be deeply missed by her children, Heather Leslie (Ken Leslie) and Gerry Kwasnycia (Linda Craig); sister and best friend Helen Ullyot, many nieces, nephews, longtime friends and neighbours. Also mourning her death are Linda's brother Allan Craig and Mom's longtime special and dedicated family friend Janet Wikstrom. Mom was thrilled when Ken joined our family in 2011 and provided her with instant grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Her grandson David Leslie (Tammy Leslie) and their children, Emma, Nate and Jake and her granddaughter Erin Leslie Crowe (Greg Crowe) and their children, Benjamin and Olivia, provided Mom with some young people to enjoy and cherish (finally!). She truly loved us all. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bill Kwasnycia; her parents, Jakobina and Lawrence Ingimundson; and her sister Norma Busby. Mom was very proud of her Icelandic heritage. She had a strong character with a gentle touch and left an indelible impression on everyone she met. She and Dad spent many summers enjoying the family cottage at Minaki. They warmly welcomed all family, friends, pets, and lost sea faring souls. Mom loved to shop for a good bargain, and was always proud of the terrific deals she found. She was a bit of a gamer too and loved to get away for a couple of days to a casino. At home, nobody could beat her at Scrabble! Mom was a devoted fan of the Blue Bombers and all things related to Canadian curling! We wish to thank Mom's dedicated professionals, who provided her with kind and compassionate care. The staff at CancerCare Manitoba, including Dr. Erin Dean and her team, Dr. Mark Kristjanson, and Dr. Aldrich Ong, as well as the staff at the Rehab and Concordia Hospitals were considerate and sensitive at all times. Mom had a deep faith and devotion to church, and was thankful for the support and prayers of Pastor Bruce Gelhorn, Pastor Courtenay Reedman Parker and Pastor Don Engel. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue in Winnipeg. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to: Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 0X3 or Grace Lutheran Church (designated for Trinity Food Pantry).
