Leonard enjoyed many things such as golf, playing cards, BBQ's with family, family trips, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren, playing, giving them whatever they wanted, and always holding them, even when he wasn't supposed to. "If grandma said no, ask grandpa!". Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Great Falls Hall, Great Falls, MB with Pastor Faron Hansen officiating. He will be laid to rest with his son Ricky in the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Pinawa Hospital. The family would like to thank the staff at Pinawa Hospital for their kindness and support, as well as CancerCare. Don't grieve for me, from pain I'm free, I'm following the path God has laid, you see. I took His hand when I heard His call I turned around and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found the peace on a sunny day, If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A family shared, a laugh, a kiss, O yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, My life's been full, I've savored much, Good family, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee, God wanted me now; From pain I'm free. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
