OLGA ELIZABETH (SUSIE) SIMISTER January 3, 1926 - September 2, 2015 Peacefully after several weeks stay at the Riverview Health Centre, Susie quietly passed away. Born in Sioux Lookout Ontario, she moved to Winnipeg in 1940 and after attending Success Business College, worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper for Radio Oil and CC Falkoner and Sons. In Winnipeg she met her husband Peter and they were married August 23, 1947. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Patricia (Joseph) Darlington and her niece Karen (Ariel) Lee and nephews Jim (Elaine) Bodnar, Rick (Kathie) Simister and Doug (Donna) Simister. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; her father John; her mother Kateryna; brothers William and Metro; and sister Mary. She was also predeceased by her grandson Alexander Harper. During her life at Kenbur Gardens, she made many wonderful friends who provided love and support during her illness. Susie loved to berry pick near the family cottage in Vermillion Bay and made delicious pies. She was an accomplished baker and generously provided her friends and family with muffins and pies. A private celebration of Susie's life will take place in spring 2016. Memorial donations would be appreciated and may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Riverview Palliative Care Ward 3E for the compassionate care that Susie received.
