MARY ELIZABETH (BETTY) STANIK July 18, 1949 - September 5, 2015 The family is saddened to announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Betty, after a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer, with her family at her side. Betty was a person of indomitable strength, a warm, gentle, caring and understanding woman who was loved by all who met her. Mary's faith and the love of her family and friends helped her to remain strong throughout her battle. Her bright, loving smile will always be remembered and will bring strength to those who loved her. The loving legacy of Betty and Danny began when they first met in Grade 6. Their love blossomed over the years and they married on August 3, 1968. In 1971 they were blessed with their son Beau who later married Heather in 2007. Heather and Beau blessed Betty and Danny with their first grandchild, Brooklyn Hope in 2009. Family was her world, with Beau and Brooklyn the center of her universe. In addition to her immediate family, Betty will always be lovingly remembered by her brother, Bobby (Viola), and her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you to Amanda, her special "cornflower girl," and husband Kenn. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Bialy and the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their loving care. As per Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Betty's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 11 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. "The moment you left us, our hearts broke in two; One side filled with memories, the other died with you. When we lay awake at night, and the world is fast asleep, We will take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon our cheeks. Remembering you will be easy, we will do that every day, But missing you will be a heartbreak, which will never go away. If we could have one wish, one dream, that could somehow come true, We would wish for yesterday, when we had you." KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193

I remember as a child, the weekly visits to the house, babysitting Beau, chance meetings at G.C shopping centre. "Aunty Betty" always had a smile. Never a dull moment but tons of laughter. Filled with sadness to know she has gone to a better place to share even more laughs with those who once left her. My condolences go out to "Uncle Danny" and to Beau. She will be sadly missed by all - Posted by: Tracy Ungerer (family friend) on: Sep 10, 2015
