Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATILDA JANZEN April 20, 1929 - September 9, 2015 On September 9, 2015, Tillie passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital nine months after Dad left us. It's hard to say goodbye to both parents in one year but that seems to be the way of sweethearts. Carrying on their memory are daughter Judith (Eugen); sons, Jim (Ronalee), Tom and Paul (Tiffany), grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tillie was born to Jakob and Maria (Pauls) Braun in Arnaud, Manitoba and spoke fondly of growing up in the Pauls clan. Mom's love of music had lots of company there. She stood by Jake through 64 years of marriage, with the challenging task of balancing his overt optimism. She knew hard times, which is why she supported her family through thick and thin. Her love was unconditional and we knew she held us in her prayers always. Mom worked hard raising her family and keeping the farm going. Once she and Dad moved to the city, she volunteered at MCC, Grace Hospital, Gideons and Wycliffe. Most of all, her friendship was cherished by many. One of her favourite songs begins: Soft as the voice of an angel. Heaven just gained one. Memorial service will be held at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive on Monday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. Reception following the service. Will always remember the fun times I had playing either Skip-bo or crokenole with your Mom at Vasa Lund Estates during my visits with my parents. She was always so great to partner with.
