FRANCISCO SOARES FERREIRA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francisco Soares Ferreira on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the age of 74 years, after a brief battle with illness. Francisco is survived by his wife of 50 years, Fatima; his five children, Emanuel (Luzia), Jose (Shawna), Antonio, Alice and Sophia (Ousmane); his 13 grandchildren, Andrew, Sabrina, Samantha, Jonathan, Matthew, Nicole, Emily, Veronica, Dru, Layne, Aiden, Hendrix and Ali; five great-grandchildren, Arianna, Mikayla, Raiden, Alaina and Jordan; brother Manuel (Maria), as well as many other relatives in Winnipeg, Ontario and Portugal. He left behind many friends including longtime friend Jose Silva, whom he thought of as a brother. Francisco was born on August 21, 1941 in San Miguel, Acores and moved to Canada on February 11, 1972. The family would like to thank the staff at Unit 5 and 6 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, September 15 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N.
