Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHELAGH O'NEIL LYONS (nee BELL) September 10, 1935 - September 10, 2015 It is with sad hearts that we mourn the loss of our loving wife, mother, and grandmother who passed away peacefully the morning of her 80th birthday. Shelagh enjoyed traveling; she and Doug visited family across Canada and she celebrated her 75th birthday in Ireland with her daughters. She had a warm heart, a smile for everyone, and always had a story to share. She will be forever remembered by her husband Douglas of Pinawa, MB, daughters Janis Wokoeck (Lanny) of Kelowna, BC, Kathryn Price (Norm) of Winnipeg, MB, and Carolyn Dyma (Richard) of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Tyson, Lukas, Nikolas, Dayna, and Jaryd, and sisters Yvonne Larner (Ray) of Winnipeg, MB and Jocelyn Goodman of Vancouver, BC. She is also survived by sister in-law Phyllis Bell of Winnipeg, MB as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her infant son Donald Brian, her parents John and Eileen Bell, brothers Brian (Helen), Robert, and brother in-law Roger. The family would like to thank the staff of Pinawa Hospital and her many friends for their love and support. A celebration of Shelagh's life will take place at the Alliance Church in Pinawa on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Internment to follow in the Pinawa Cemetery. I only learned of Shelagh's passing recently. Doug, both you and Shelagh were wonderful special friends to my mother and we thank you for being you. Shelagh leaves so many happy memories. Shelagh you are a mothering mentor to so many of us. When we were kids you gave us a safe place to be, you opened your home to who ever showed up and treated half of St James like one of your own. From Garrioch ave to birds hill store and lac du bonnet then Pinawa there is a trail of souls that you have forever changed. Your Beloved smile and your natural ability to Boot our butts and make us do things we never wanted to do but did and had fun doing anyway was contagious! Our world would have not been the same without your influence there is only one thing to say. Shelagh your pain is no more may you rest in peace and to all that knew you, if we listen we know you are there. thank you for always being you and our mothering mentor! I have never met Shelagh but love hearing the stories from her daughter, my friend Carolyn. We loved Shelagh like our own Moms, and will miss her hugs. Happy times at Lac du Bonnet, Victoria Beach, and Pinawa will always be remembered in stories and pictures with Kathy, Norm, and the kids. A happy, cheerful lady who loved to share stories. Shelagh always made you feel welcome and I cannot recall, ever, hearing her complain. Even after one arduous road trip from Winnipeg to Edmonton with Kathy, Norm, Dayna, Jaryd, and our sister Gaye. So sorry that her last days were hard.
