MAGGIE HENDERSON (nee SCHELLENBERG) December 7, 1957 - September 13, 2015 Our beautiful Maggie has left this earth and we are devastated. On Sunday night very quietly and peacefully with her husband holding her hand. Maggie is mourned by her "True Love" Ron; her stepdaughter Lisa Poland (Cam, Asha, Thomas); her stepson Marc Henderson (Samantha, James, Luke); her sisters Mary Schmidt (Ernie) and Betty Janzen (Heinz); her brother Harry Schellenberg (Diane), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Maggie worked many years in insurance claims adjusting, including over 20 years at Christianson McMaster. Maggie's family was always most important to her and she was able to help many in difficult times. Maggie is best remembered for the 10 years she spent taking care of Mom so she could stay as long as possible in her little cottage. Unfortunately, Maggie's brain tumour was diagnosed the day Mom died. In the 34 months since, Maggie endured and endured but she always had her beautiful smile for everyone to see. Thank you to CancerCare Manitoba, especially Mel, Lori and Dr. B; and to Riverview Health Centre and the wonderful, compassionate staff (too many to name) of Palliative Care 3E. Memorial service will be Friday, September 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maggie's name to CancerCare or Riverview. I worked with Ron and Maggie years ago. Ron, I always admired a married couple like you two , being able to work and live together and still be so happy! Not many have the kind of strength a marriage takes to do both! But clearly you dearly loved each other and it showed. Maggie always had a smile on her face, and an infectious laugh. She always made time for people, and was the type of person that you could ask a question, and not for a second did you feel that you were bothering her, actually the opposite she always received others with a smile. That's what I will remember about Maggie, her smile, her laugh and good sense of humour, and her kind way. Ron I am so sorry for this devastating loss suffered by you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, sincerely Susan Thain - Posted by: Susan Thain (former co worker) on: Sep 16, 2015

The world is not a better place now that Maggie is no longer here. She was a lady that I grew to admire very much as I got to know her and without you, Ron, Maggie could not have been here as long as what she was. You were a wonderful team, a true match and I cannot begin to imagine the loss you must feel. Maggie was truly an inspiration as her courage and tremendous strengh never wained through the months and months of treatments, etc. I will never forget the great conversations, her laughter, her wonderful smile...a beautiful lady, inside and out. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Ron and all who knew this beautiful lady. I shall never forget you, Maggie. - Posted by: Melanie Edmonds (CancerCare Manitoba) on: Sep 16, 2015
