WINONA RUTH PATTON (nee ROY) July 18, 1924 - September 19, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Nonie, at the Victoria General Hospital. She went quietly into the night surrounded by loving family after a short battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce and her son Rod. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Michele and husband Dexter Greenwood, grandchildren Bret and Regan Greenwood, Charlee and Randee Patton and Kendra (Ken) Lovas and three great-grandchildren. Nonie was born and raised in Winnipeg. She attended Daniel McIntyre high school where she met Bruce. They married soon after the war was over. They moved to Regina in 1957 where they raised their children. After Bruce retired they spent summers at their cottage at B-Say-Tah beach in Saskatchewan and winters in Texas. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1993 to spend more time close to family. Nonie was an avid golfer and played well into her late 80's. She was also a very competitive curler. In 1968, leading her foursome, they earned the first Regina berth into the Saskatchewan Ladies Southern Curling finales. She also loved to play bridge and continued to play a couple of times a week right up to the time she entered the hospital. In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place and a small family gathering will follow at a later date. We wish to express special thanks to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital, 5th floor, for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Manitoba CancerCare or to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, would be appreciated. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

I fondly remember Nonie sitting in my parents cottage, enjoying the company, and full of laughter and fun. She was always full of life. I and my parents were very fond of her. My condolences to all the members of the family. - Posted by: Betty McLeod Miller (Long time friend and neighbour at B Say Tah) on: Sep 26, 2015
