ADELINE NELLIE LAMONT (nee OSIOWY) With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Adeline Nellie Lamont (Osiowy), aged 82 years, of Hazelridge, MB on September 25, 2015. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Glenda (Robin), sons Elwood (Debbie), Lionel (Sarita), Nelson (Gina). Granny also leaves six grandchildren, Brandee (Randy), Ryan, Alana, Nicole, Kieran, Colton and great-grandson Ashton. She will also be remembered and missed by siblings Louis Osiowy, Mike Osiowy, and Jean Ross as well as all other family members. Adeline was predeceased by her husband Howard in 2006. Adeline was born in Winnipeg on July 20, 1933 and raised on the family farm. Adeline married Howard in 1951 and together they farmed in the Hazelridge area throughout their lives. Adeline had a great joy and affection for kids having raised her own four children, contributed greatly to raising two grandchildren, and worked as a 4-H leader that spanned three generations. In earlier years she was active in sports playing baseball, curling and even once racing a snowmobile. In her later years Adeline was still active in sports coaching broomball, baseball and the infamous Hazelridge Reds (nee Hens). Adeline drove a school bus for over 25 years and was recognized in the early seventies as being one of the first women bus drivers. One of her favorite joys was bringing home treasures from garage sales especially Blue Mountain to add to her collection. This past summer was especially fruitful as her brother Mike was out from Toronto for six weeks and the two of them combed the area clean for items for Mike to take home to Toronto for his flea market kiosk. If friends and family so desire, donations can be made in her name to your location community association or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, MB at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015. • Elwood, Lionel, Glenda & Nelson, We were so very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. The memories Jerry and I have of Mrs Lamont, and in later years Adeline, will always be treasured. She was such a strong and caring woman. She was our bus driver, baseball coach, 4-H leader and curling opponent. She always had a smile and a "hi, how are ya" for us, as recently as the pancake breakfast in Cooks Creek in August. She will be missed. • To the children of Adeline. We are so very sorry for your loss. You Mom was an outstanding lady. Our kids were part of 4-H, so they got to know her as well. She was a part of my life since I married Doug some 40 years ago and whenever we drive past her home we would always say "Hi Buggins" even though we did not stop. That is a name that Glenn McDermot always called her. Our thoughts and prayers to all. - Posted by: Doug and Joanne McDermot (friends) on: Oct 01, 2015

  • Adeline was a true community spirit. If there was a happening worth while Adeline was there volunteering or socializing. She could be relied upon to say it the way it was. Good or bad. You never left wondering what she thought of something. She was a good, kind, honest and generous person who will be missed in the community Sincere condolences to all her family who were everything to her. - Posted by: Brian and Zoe Thompson (Friend) on: Oct 01, 2015
