Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORRIS EVAN COOK June 27, 1962 - September 27, 2015 It is with profound sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Norris Evan Cook, on September 27, 2015 at the age of 53 years. Remembering Norris is his loving bride Verena; his sons Patrick, Jeremie and Jonah (and their mother Lise Delannoy Cook); sisters, Valerie, Virginia Honke (Oscar), Ronalie Roberge (Robin); twin sister, Nancy Jeffrey (Russell); Verena's children, Nick Betzing (Nicole), Lukas Betzing (Larissa), Maya and Tia Betzing; in-laws Carla Janzen (Rheal Landry), Rudie Fast (Michele), Marlene Penner (Chuck); Aunt Del Cook and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Norris was predeceased by his parents Pat and Jackie Cook. Norris, the youngest and only son, was born on June 27, 1962 in Swan River, Manitoba. His childhood was enjoyed in Bowsman, Manitoba and was shared with four older sisters. Kindergarten to Grade 9 was in Bowsman and he graduated from Swan Valley Regional Secondary School in 1980. Norris completed the Red River Business Administration degree in 1984 followed by numerous other business courses to achieve higher learning. Norris was successful in many areas of business and currently was co-owner of a computer technology business. He worked with integrity, offering an outstanding level of customer service. His real pride and joy showed through the dedication and love that Norris had for his sons. Being a huge fan of curling and soccer, Norris coached at least two of his son's teams in each sport per season. His hope was that this would provide his boys with an opportunity to learn necessary life lessons that team sports provide. Active in the St. Vital Curling Club, Norris enjoyed the game since the age of eight. He loved and honored the relationships and the competition that curling offered. In February, 2015, Norris married his love Verena Fast. They were enjoying newly married life and their blended family in their new home. His relationship with his step-daughters was especially meaningful to him. Friends played an important role in Norris's life. He knew he was blessed by the village that surrounded him. The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kidsport, 103-145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg R3B 2Z6. We were both born in Swan the same year. We both took Business Administration at R.R.C.C. the same year. We both curled at St.Vital. I'm sure at some point we must have crossed paths but never met. Thirteen years ago we end up living on the same street and with the openness of children we met. This generated many conversations about kids, life and work. I'm glad life finally put us on the same path and for at least a short time I had the opportunity to walk it with you. - Posted by: Blair Leggatt (Acquaintance ) on: Oct 03, 2015

Wow, I just can't believe that you are gone. Norris was a great person, in the 20+ years that I have known this man I knew that he was a good person and a wonderful father. The love that he had for his children was unbelievable. Norris was a good friend, he was always looking out for the people that he cared about and he always had his friends best interest at heart. He was a loving person, one that this world is going to miss. Verena, you are also a great person and I am so sorry for your loss, I know how much you love him and I am so sorry that you have to finish your life journey without him. In every conversation that we have ever had about you I could see the love that he had for you, he adored you V. Patrick, Jeromie and Jonah I am sorry that you are losing one of the world's greatest fathers, he also spoke of you guys with so much pride and I hope that one day when you become father's you will remember how great your dad was. Norris, I am sorry that we didn't get around to making those dinner plans that we kept putting off, Pat and I were just saying that you and Verena are those friends that we kept saying over and over we need to make more time for and we hadn't done that lately and I am so sorry for that. I love you and I will miss you. xoxo Betty and Pat - Posted by: Betty Stolwyk (Friend) on: Oct 01, 2015

As my former brother-in-law I have many fond memories of family dinners, talking over our work and hobbies. It was always fun to watch Norris relate to his sons/my nephews. Nothing like playing a board game. His kindness was shown when he helped a friend^s son of mine get a job at Arnies. In spite of all his experience in business management, his passion for computers, videos etc was evident. It was a pleasure to know he was able to pursue that passion in his own business over the last few years. He will be missed. - Posted by: Cliff Mertick (Ex-brother-in-law) on: Sep 30, 2015
