MARIA (MARY) KUREC It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother and Baba on Friday, September 25, 2015, at the age of 90. Maria is survived by daughter Zina Schellenberg (Real Lauzon) of Arnes, MB, grandson Jesse Schellenberg (Melissa) of Weyburn, SK; son Tony Kurec of Toronto, ON, grandson Remy Panikkar and his mother Vinnie of Vancouver, BC; daughter Anna Pegoretti-Saurette (Rene Saurette), grandchildren: Colin Saurette, Nicholas Pegoretti and Mia Saurette of Winnipeg, MB; as well as Anna's father, Maria's loving companion, William Kostelnyk. Maria's greatest love was her family. She was a social butterfly who loved being around people. Maria knew and met people everywhere she went. Maria loved nature and appreciated the beauty of it. A walk through a flower garden, tending her vegetable garden and smelling the fresh air at the cottage was like heaven to her. There wasn't anything she could not do. Her love of cooking and baking was enjoyed by all. In the winter she loved to knit, creating beautiful blankets and slippers for everyone. They will keep us warm forever, as will the memories of our beautiful, generous hardworking Mother and Baba. Rest in Peace. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with viewing prior to the service. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 204-339-5555
