ANNA PENNER On October 9, 2015, at Bethania Personal Care Home, Anna Penner passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord at the age of 87 years. She is survived by sons Meridith (Karen), Tom (Daniella), Tim (Geri), daughter Naomi (Ken Makodanski); grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Viewing on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue. Complete obituary in Tuesday's edition. Friends Funeral Service 204-339-5555

Just found out about your Mom ...Vern was in St. Boniface with breathing problems, is better. These are the years of loss & sorrow for many of us. Praise God that we will all meet again because of John 3:16.... As a child, my visits with Aunt Anna and Uncle Erwin were always looked forward to. I enjoyed meeting in their home and enjoyed her delicious food. Her zwieback were amazing as were her fleish periske. As I grew older I came to appreciate Aunt Anna for her "zest" for life. She was a very determined woman, with lots of spunk. I cherish my last visit with her about 1 week before her passing. She is at rest. Blessings of Comfort to my cousins, their children and extended family.
