ESTHER HOGLANDER FINDLAY (nee SCHRUM) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Esther Hoglander Findlay (Schrum) passed away on October 24, 2015 at the age of 80 years old. Esther will be lovingly remembered by her son Rick and his partner Jennifer, her special niece Janet, Jennifer's parents Mick and Darlene, numerous nieces, nephews and friends and her faithful companion Tobey. She was predeceased by her son Barry, her parents Gottfred and Adeline, sisters Ida, Elsie, Lydia, Helen and Alice and brothers Fred, Otto, Ervin, Elmer and Harry, her first husband Jim Hoglander, her second husband Jack Findlay and dear friend Pete. Esther was born in Nobleville, SK on January 10, 1935 the youngest of 11 children. In her late teens, she moved to Flin Flon where she married her first husband Jim and started her family. She moved her family to Winnipeg and began working at Northern Telecom where she met many special, lifelong friends. Mom was a strong independent woman who worked hard her entire life to provide for her family. It was our special honour to have cared for her in our home for the past few months and to have shared so many special moments with her that we will always cherish. We would like to extend a special thank you to the IRHA palliative homecare team for their dedication and compassion, particularly Ann who became a dear friend to mom. Also, to Dr. Van, Dr. Hebert and the incredible nurses and staff of NE3 at Concordia Hospital your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. A celebration of Esther's life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Esther's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

It's difficult to realize how many years have passed since Esther and I were"teenage" friends in Flin Flon. We met shortly after Esther moved to Flin Flon and we spend a lot of time together - dancing, laughing and just being happy. Somehow we lost track of each other after she and Jimmy moved to Selkirk and I moved to Winnipeg. I've thought about her often over the years - I'm so sorry I will never see her again. My most sincere sympathy to Rick and Jennifer and all her family and friends. Eunice - Posted by: Eunice (Davison) Petrychko (Flin Flon friend) on: Nov 02, 2015
