ELFRIEDE GOERTZ (nee MUNDT) After a short illness, Elfriede has joined her husband Rudolph and son John in the next step of her journey. Elfriede was born in Poland on August 10, 1932 and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1948. By 1950 she was living in Winnipeg and met the love of her life Rudy, they wed in 1952 and were blessed with four children. Frieda was a traditional stay at home mom who loved to garden, cook, bake and do needle work. Frieda was predeceased by her husband Rudolph, son John, parents Bertha and Edward, step father Philip, brother-in-law Jack, and her brother Ted and nephew Gary. She leaves to mourn her daughter Christel (Maurice), sons Philip (Dale), James (Eileen), and daughter-in-law Rita; sisters Alma and Margaret (John), sister-in-law Hilda, brothers Edward (Marilyn) and Hans (Claire), her cherished nine grandchildren, precious five great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews and dear friends. Nothing else in life put such a sparkle in her eye as holding one of her precious babies. Viewing prior to the Service which will be held on November 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

She was a wonderful lady and a great mom. Always had a smile on her face and a hug whenever I saw her. Know you are all in our thoughts and prayers and that she is at peace. I am sure her next journey will be as fulfilling as her life on earth was. Know we will be with you on Thursday in spirit, since we can't physically be there.
