Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE RUF (nee TODD) September 14, 1941 - November 21, 2015 After a courageous battle with cancer, the family sadly announces the passing of Bernice on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the age of 74 years old. Bernice was predeceased by her parents William and Stella Todd; and brothers Maurice and James Todd. Bernice will be sadly missed by her husband Otto Ruf of 46 years; daughters, Kelly Maguire, Alison James (Keith), and Perdita Birrell (Robert). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Chaizz Ruf and Ainsley Fritz; along with many extended family and friends. Bernice cherished family gatherings. She loved going for coffee at her local Mountain Bean Café and enjoyed yearly trips to Grand Forks with family. She looked forward to meeting friends for lunch while trying her luck at Regent Casino. She adored all of the dogs she had throughout her life, especially her latest, Bailey. He was by her side to offer his love and comfort. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospice for their amazing care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, 264 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB with a luncheon to follow. A private family interment will be at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, Donations to the "Grace Hospice" c/o Grace Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB. R3J 3M7 or CancerCare Manitoba are preferred. "God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So he wrapped his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me". You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best And when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain I could not wish you back to suffer that again."

Bernice was a wonderful kind and caring person. She treasured her family and dogs very much. Perdita used to babysit our kids when she was young and the kids loved her. I'm so grateful for having Bernice as my God-mother. She was always there when I needed her comfort most. I will always treasure her kind and gentle nature, and grateful for the time we shared together! My sincere condolences to you ALL!
