ANNA BROWN August 17, 1932 - December 12, 2015 Anna Brown (nee Giesbrecht) is survived by her children, Robert (Joyce), Colleen (Timothy), Douglas (Carolyn) and Darlene (Mark). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and sister, Tina. Anna was predeceased by her husband, John (2015); her brothers, Ed and Henry (2014); her son, Mark (2011); daughter-in-law Doris (2000); and parents, Heinrich (1975) and Aganetha (1972). Anna had a good work ethic and strived for excellence in every task she undertook. Anna valued education and in 1953 achieved her licensed practical nurse designation. After marrying her husband John in 1955, she took time off from nursing to have children. Once her children started school Anna returned to her nursing career on a part-time basis until her retirement in 1999. Anna was an excellent homemaker, avid gardener, knitter and seamstress. She took a keen interest in the activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved being surrounded by her family for special occasions and holidays. Over the past five years, Anna was challenged by multiple chronic conditions which became all the more difficult to endure after the death of her husband. She persevered until the morning of December 12 when she died peacefully in her sleep and God took her to her heavenly home. "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28 ESV) A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakbank Baptist Church, 26033 Springfield Road, Oakbank, Manitoba. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Nutimik.
