Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN ROSE MICHAUD (nee GILLIBRAND) April 12, 1925 - December 22, 2015 We the daughters, Pat Reitmeier and Wendy Tanghe, are sad to announce the passing of our mother Kathleen Rose Michaud. Kathleen has gone on her journey to the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ with family by her side. She had been in the darkness battling Alzheimer's disease for ten years, now God has taken her to his light and has welcomed her to Heaven where her suffering will be no more. Kathleen was born in Southampton, England. She met her husband George Michaud in the Army while he was stationed in England, they came to Canada after the Second World War and they settled in St. Boniface later moving out to St. Pierre. Due to George's failing health they later moved back to Winnipeg and resided in Fort Garry in a condominium on Pembina Highway where he predeceased her in 1999. Kathleen resided in the condo until 2006, at which time she was placed in Beacon Hill Lodge to be cared for by due to Alzheimer's. She will be sadly missed with fond memories by her daughters, sons-in-law Robert Tanghe and Ron Reitmeier, six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, with whom she greatly enjoyed spending time with. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all of the staff and caregivers at Beacon Hill for their tireless efforts and giving Kathleen comfort in her time of illness. She was given tremendous care and was treated with dignity until her final days. A celebration of her life will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road, on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow where she will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Vital Cemetery. Pallbearers to be are Robert Tanghe SR, Bob and Louis Tanghe, Tim and Jude Tanghe and Brad Tanghe. Flowers gratefully declined, donations would be greatly appreciated to be given to the Salvation Army. Aunty Kath was always seemed such a sweet and cheerful person whenever I had occasion to see her. Her visits to our house on Windsor Avenue always seemed to be light and happy occasions. Rest well Aunty! Brian Neill in the Dallas Texas area - Posted by: Brian Neill (Nephew) on: Jun 19, 2020
