DENIS FELIX PELOQUIN August 16, 1933 - January 13, 2016 It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our cherished husband, dad, grandfather, and brother Dénis Péloquin, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Pierre Hospital after fighting cancer for many months. He is survived by his wife Eveline (née Nault) of 59 years, his children: Bernard (Darlene), Nicole, Lynne, Luc (Pat) and Brigitte (Brad), brother Emile (Doreen) and family, sister-in-law Berthe and family, brother-in-law Norm (Karol) and family, 11 grandchildren and all his many great-grandchildren. Denis was predeceased by his parents: Armand and Dorothée (née Lambert), his daughter Marie, grandson Mathew, and brothers: Albert and George Péloquin. Dénis was born August 16, 1933 in St. Pierre Jolys, MB. He went to school in St. Pierre and helped his parents on the farm. He had a gift working with animals and left school to help with the dairy farm. On July 14, 1956, he married the love of his life, Eveline Nault (teacher). Together, they took over the dairy farm and land with the help of his brother Albert. They wasted no time and one after another six children were born. Together, through good times and hard times, they continued on their path, and decided to sell the dairy farm, in 1975. Dad worked for many more companies after the dairy farm. He worked at the "Sugar Beets Factory", "Peloquin Windows" with his son Luc and "Naturas," just to name a few. Dad and Mom loved to travel and soon became "snow birds," leaving for many months to stay in Arizona. Upon retiring, Dad's true talents came alive. He loved helping the community and became "Jack of all Trades." He constructed many log houses, one which is situated in the middle of town for St. Pierre Centennial's celebration. Denis enjoyed fishing, hunting, and began tinkering with wood during his free time. He loved making tables, clocks, benches, and especially bird houses, which he usually gave away to friends and family and donated many to causes throughout the years. His greatest achievement though, was his love for his wife Eveline, children and grandchildren. He loved each and one of them, and enjoyed their visits and company. He even passed down his competitive card playing skills and his love of animals to his grandchildren. Dad, your legacy will live on; love unconditionally, have fun, pull pranks and enjoy your time together as a family. Dad, you will be sadly missed by all. You're an inspiration to us all - Live, love, laugh and garage sales. We would also like to express our love and gratitude to all the St. Pierre Hospital staff, which provided support, caring and encouragement for our entire family during these difficult times. You are all so amazing. Thank you! Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pierre Catholic Church, 448 Joubert Street, St. Pierre Jolys, MB, R0A 1V0. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Denis may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
