Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA WIENS Maria Wiens (nee Bergen) was called to her eternal rest on January 18, 2016. She lived a long life that began in Neuendorf, Ukraine on February 14, 1921 as one of five children. In 1947 she arrived in Paraguay where she married and was blessed with four children. In 1957 the family moved to Winnipeg. Maria lived a life of devotion to her family and her Christian faith. She leaves to mourn her twin brother Kornelius (Agnes); her four dear children Agnes (John) Loewen, Erna (Wil) Braun, Kathe (Harry) Harder and John (Erika) Wiens; 10 precious grandchildren and their spouses; and eight adorable great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Johann in 1989, as well as two sisters and one brother. Our thanks go to the staff of Bethania for their devoted care to our mom during the last six years of her journey. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street. Private viewing and interment.
