My grandpa is my everything from the moment I gained consciousness on this earth. I sleep with his photo beside my bed since he went to heaven and wear his watch every day. I carry your sense of humour with me and bug people now and implement all of the great things I learned from you into my life. Like being there for others and always wanting to help. Talking to the public and trying to make people smile. I want nothing more than to make my grandpa proud here on earth. I’ve been too hurt for too many years to be able to write something on here but now I just want to say, grandpa, you’re still here with me, I know you are, I miss you every day, I love you forever, I always will. Love, your grandDAUGHTER. - Posted by: Kayla Chaykowski (Granddaughter) on: Feb 05, 2025

We were neighbors for 18 years, and will miss Barry. He was a great neighbor willing to help out in any way. He would often come out to say hi when we were playing frisbee with our dogs. After attending the memorial service for Barry, it was evident that he had so many friends and family who loved him so very much. All the stories that were shared, told of how Barry could make people laugh, and how he was there to help whenever he was needed. He was truly a great person and left so many memories for us all. For those of us who were lucky enough to share Barry's Life, his Love and his Friendship, we will truly miss him. Barry, keep on laughing and making people smile "up there in the sky". til we meet again, I Love you, Linda - Posted by: linda Schmidt (sister) on: Jan 25, 2016

Myself and my father both worked with Barry at CP. Barry's humor was entertaining. I was sorry to hear his passing. I wondered what Barry was up to the last couple of years. I am sorry I didn't follow through with getting in touch. My heart goes out to the family. - Posted by: Craig Nagazina (Co worker from the past ) on: Jan 25, 2016

Debbie & Family Seeing your picture in paper I was shocked and what a loss, a man that I enjoyed having fun talking with at anytime. Always enjoyed the times at the local junkyard or meeting him at Walmart seeing that huge big smile. Barry enjoyed life even though he was battling his medical problems. We would talk about cars or trucks we were working on or just whatever we wanted to talk about. I especially liked Barry because he never talked about people or trashed any one to me. We jut had fun bugging each other and we were good with that. I worked with Barry at CP Express and Transport and we had a blast and we maintained are friendship for ever from the late 80s till right up to now. There's no one like him he was easy going and a lot of fun. He left behind a great family who truly loved him and good friends who will miss him dearly. Barry I will never forget you. Your no longer suffering and you. left us with great memories thank you for that. You brought a lot of joy to many. - Posted by: David & Helen Draper (friend / co-worker) on: Jan 22, 2016

I still don't really believe it. My heart aches for everyone he left behind. He was always such a joker and I will miss his laugh. My love to you Aunty Debbie, Carlene Carrie and Cory. I have to agree, he is likely already working the garage in heaven....keeping the old cars running and telling a few good stories - Posted by: Melissa (neice) on: Jan 21, 2016

I met Barry At Margaret Scott School (1967) With Cris Bondarenko, some great memories. We all used to to School (Sisler High) In His 59 Chevy, Barry, Brian and Ted. Mrs Proutt used to say "I always sent them to school?" Usually but not all the time. Great times. We would always fix our cars in his Grampa's garage. Then Barry got married to Debi and had some great and kids and Grandchildren.(Lucky Man.) I then worked with Barry at CP Express and Transport. (Garage.) He always talked about his grandchildren. Barry loved life. In my mind he is He is still in the Garage and lighting a fire so we could fix our/his cars.I would share my/his expertise with mechanical problems. We even fixed his Dad's tractor in times long ago. He will sadly missed a true friend - Posted by: Ted Jaworski (Friend) on: Jan 20, 2016
