VICTORIA KOWASKI KUPIAK September 27, 1923 - January 18, 2016 With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Victoria, on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Bethesda Place Personal Care Home in Steinbach, MB. Vicky was born Victoria Wieder on September 27, 1923 in Invermay, SK. As a young girl she moved to Winnipeg, where in 1946 she married John Kowaski. Along with John, they owned a number of small restaurants and hotels in the province. They lived in Amaranth, MacGregor, Whitemouth and finally settled in East Braintree. After John's passing in 1986, she met and married Walter Kupiak in 1992 and lived in Hadashville and Steinbach, where Walter passed in 2012. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, along with following baseball and curling and of course playing Bingo. She was predeceased by her husbands: John and Walter; sisters, Rose and Caroline; and brothers, Mike, Pete Carl, John, Marion: daughter-in-law Addie and step-daughter-in-law Dianne. She is survived by sons: Ken (Jocelyne), Kelvin (Dianne) and Len; brothers, Walter and Tony; stepsons, Dennis (Florence), Don (Rita) and step-son-in-law Andy Bannerman, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following at the East Braintree Cemetery, R.M. of Reynolds, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Victoria may be made to the charity of your choice. Thanks to the Bethesda staff for caring for "Baba". Love ya Mom.
